Strengthening Communities Initiative
Information SessionsInformational sessions offered in two convenient regional locations will provide details about this new nonprofit capacity-building initiative and the application process.
Everyone in the region who provides child care to children ages 5 and under—whether at a child care center, licensed home-based care, or regularly caring for the child of a family member, friend, or neighbor—is welcome to a day of appreciation and learning. An estimated 400 participants will enjoy lunch, prizes, speakers, and networking.
Youth In Philanthropy Teams made up of one adult and up to three youth are invited to attend a free Grantwriting Training. The session is designed to provide youth with basic grantwriting skills and help them move projects from the idea stage to implementation. Registration is due by March 1, 2010 to the Northland Foundation.
Early childhood specialists, K-12 educators, school administrators, superintendents, law enforcement representatives, and other community members from school districts throughout the region will focus on early learning and development at the fifth annual Summit. Watch for more details on this event in the weeks to come.
