  • Completed the Strengthening Communities Initiative, a two-year program in which Northland provided tailored technical assistance, training, and financial awards to help build the organizational capacity of 37 nonprofit organizations
  • Received $230,000 through two capital grants from the Create Jobs for USA Fund, a collaboration between Starbucks and Opportunity Finance Network as part of a national campaign to help Community Development Financial Institutions support businesses in underserved communities
  • Selected to receive the Generations United Intergenerational Innovations Award in recognition of how the KIDS PLUS AGE to age: bringing generations together initiative has advanced the intergenerational field and united people of all ages
  • Invested $3.65 million in 19 businesses and nonprofit organizations through Business Finance Program lending, helping borrowers to create or save 374 jobs in the region

  • Named as one of seven finalists in the nation for the Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence, in recognition of the success that AGE to age: bringing generations together has achieved in uniting multiple generations to bring about positive, lasting changes in their communities
  • Created an Emeritus Trustee Group comprised of 10 former Northland Foundation Trustees to help bridge the Northland Foundation's past, present, and future and to nurture vital relationships throughout the region
  • Received a five-year commitment from the Minnesota Power Foundation to provide $25,000 per year - $125,000 total, in support of the KIDS PLUS Youth In Philanthropy Program, being distributed as grants by Youth In Philanthropy's 8th-12th grade board members
  • Partnered for the 15th year with the Valspar Foundation, awarding 634 gallons of paint products to 14 nonprofit and community groups in the region
