In the morning, Dr. Clay Cook will discuss why a nurturing and responsive school environment is critical to promote student's social, emotional, and behavioral well-being as the foundation for academic and life success. More importantly, changes in the things adults say and do, with students and one another, are how a school creates a nurturing and responsive environment. Learn how to use implementation science to successfully advance common language and practices among educators to alter school culture and climate.
In the afternoon, his discussion will focus on personalized interventions. A one-size-fits-all approach to intervention programming for students with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties (SEBD) will have limited success and wastes educators' precious time and resources. Attendees will learn about intervention matching, mapping, monitoring, and meeting and receive free resources to guide and support successful implementation in their schools.
