Thrive: Understanding Adversity in Duluth's Central Hillside by asking "What Happened?"
Lunch is provided.
Join Molly Harney, Ph.D. in a session that will address opportunities and strategies designed to support a community filled with adults raising children in the shadow of adversity. Dr. Harney will share data, findings, and recommendations from research she is conducting in the Duluth neighborhood with the highest incidence of child poverty, the Central Hillside. A full 60% of the children in Duluth's Central Hillside live in poverty (Essentia Health, 2018). Through the told stories of people living there, the research uncovers adversities families face, shining a light on the community with a focus on child well-being. We will explore the lived experience of families in Duluth's Central Hillside and discuss viable solutions to support the children and families who need us the most.
