Everyone in the region who provides child care to children ages 5 and under—whether at a child care center, licensed home-based care, or regularly caring for the child of a family member, friend, or neighbor—is invited to a day of learning. An estimated 400 participants will enjoy speakers, activities, lunch, and prizes. Cost is $25 payable in advance.
Teams of one adult and up to three young people are welcomed to attend FREE Grantwriting Trainings. Youth in Philanthropy grants up to $1,000 each are available for youth-developed projects. The training is designed to provide young people with basic grantwriting skills and help them move school and community projects from IDEAS to IMPLEMENTATION!
Teams from northeastern Minnesota school districts join together to focus on early care and education, with a special focus this year on how gender affects children's learning, development, and school success. Dr. Leonard Sax, nationally renowned author of “Why Gender Matters” will headline both the morning and afternoon presentations.

The center is committed to facilitating economic progress in Greater Minnesota through participative, application-oriented Forums, held in Grand Rapids, St. Cloud, and Owatonna. The Northland Foundation offers tuition assistance to participants from northeastern Minnesota. Nonprofit participants also qualify for a 20 percent tuition discount. The tuition assistance application is available as both a Word document and a pdf.
