Welcome to our newest staff member, accountant Nora Thoren

The Northland Foundation has welcomed a new staff member. Nora Thoren joined the organization in late April as an Accountant. She will work primarily with the Chief Financial Officer, Heather Brouse, to help manage the Foundation’s financial function.

Most recently, Nora worked in accounting for St. Louis County. She also has held positions with the Minnesota Department of Revenue and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. UW-River Falls is also her alma mater; she graduated with bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and finance. Nora served for seven years with the U.S. Army, as well.

“We could not be more pleased to have Nora on board,” said Tony Sertich, Northland Foundation President.

“The accounting and financials of a publicly supported foundation can be very complex, and the knowledge and skills that she brings to the job will be a great addition to the team,” he added.

Nora and her family live in Hermantown. In her spare time, she enjoys being in the great outdoors – especially fishing.
