The Northland Foundation is pleased to welcome Brad Sandnas as Director of Assisted Living. He will oversee the Foundation’s assisted living initiative, which includes three facilities located McGregor, Buhl, and Hoyt Lakes. Each site will continue to be managed day-to-day by RN/Managers and their teams of direct care and administrative staff while Sandnas will focus on operational systems, process, and procedures across the three facilities, business development, community relations, and marketing.
Brad has held a number of nursing supervisory roles during his career to-date and also has past experience working in assisted living. He attended The College of St. Scholastica majoring in Biology and earned his nursing degree from Hibbing Community College. Brad and his wife have three children, and among his pasttimes are hunting and playing hockey.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our excellent staff, our residents and their families, and the community.”

As the Director, Brad will provide leadership, support, and business, facility, and operations management for the three Northland Village facilities, which employ approximately 60 individuals.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our excellent staff, our residents and their families, and the community to continue building and improving our care model,” stated Sandnas.
Sandnas embraces the “mission message” that NAL is a philanthropic priority of the Northland Foundation, existing not to generate profit but rather to support high-quality aging-in-place in northeastern Minnesota.
“Northland Assisted Living is rooted in the Foundation's organizational values of compassion, responsiveness, and respect for all,” stated Tom Renier, President of the Northland Foundation.
“Brad is committed to leading with these values so that our rural older adults, regardless of where they fall on the economic spectrum, experience the environment and care they so richly deserve,” added Renier.
