September 3rd Rural Voice town hall in Cloquet to explore Tribal rights, the public is invited
Rural Voice, the statewide town hall series amplifying perspectives from Greater Minnesota, launches its 2025 season at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College on Wednesday, September 3, featuring a discussion on tribal rights and sovereignty in rural Minnesota.

Moderated by Rural Voice co-founder and Minnesota Public Radio host Kerri Miller, the free event begins at 5:00 p.m. with a “Famous Red Lake Walleye” Fish Fry and local vendors. The town hall discussion, which will be recorded for Minnesota Public Radio, will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow the evening’s discussion.
The Rural Voice series, which has visited more than a dozen rural communities in Minnesota since 2022, is supported by the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, as well as the Northland Foundation and other Minnesota Initiative Foundations. The remaining 2025 sessions will be held in Willmar, Wadena, and Owatonna and focus on timely, rural-centric topics.
Each Rural Voice session is broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio about one week after the event.
